LOTS OF RESOURCES
Maybe this is a little off the wall, but have you considered searching for
various kinds of work and/or union songs?
I googled "union songs" and found quite a few sites, but the one with the
most links was:
http://unionsong.com/muse/unionsong/musites.html
I suspect you'll find some gems there (Woody Guthrie's "Ain't got the do re
me," for instance).
Also, a link from that page takes you to a website called "Working-Class
Literature," which includes tons of links to written poetry, short stories,
novels as well as work-relate films and videos, and, of course, songs.
While I haven't used any of these myself, I could imagine lots of ways they
could be used, and presume you can do the same.
Have fun!

John - here are some work-related situations that you might want to fold in
your program. They are designed to get folks thinking about - and
developing -
the interpersonal (soft) skills that are increasingly important to
employers.

Hi Everyone:
I am currently toiling away on a curriculum for a welfare to work
program. I would like to include some poems and short stories that
are related to work, finding a job, etc. If you have any
suggestions of things that you have used I would appreciate knowing
about it.
